Over the last several decades the number of Indian diabetics has increased significantly. Diabetes has some unique characteristics in Indians, which appear to increase their susceptibility to PAD.
The epidemiology of diabetes in India and the impact of this risk factor on PAD is analyzed. Employing the Diabetes Method, PAD and CLI prevalence and incidence are estimated for 2015-2035. Symptomatic disease, defined as intermittent claudication (IC) or CLI is estimated for 2015 and projected through 2035.
The estimated market, or number of Indian PAD patients diagnosed and treated, is forecast for 2015-2035.
